Alden Knutson, age 82 of Jackson, Minnesota passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson, with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
A private burial will take place at Union State Line Cemetery.
Alden “Ed” Edward Knutson, son of Alvin and Sylvia (Synstelien) Knutson, was born on August 12, 1940, in Estherville, Ia. He attended school in Petersburg and Jackson. Alden was united in marriage to Linda Oskerson on May 8, 1965. They were blessed with two children, Troy and Tamara. Alden and Linda made their home together in Jackson, Mn. He was a member of the Union State Line Church in Petersburg, Mn. Alden worked for various farmers in the area and worked at Markquart Motors, Hedenquist Motors, Snell Auto, Kemna-Asa Auto Plaza in Jackson washing cars and in the parts department. He retired after 40 years at a dealership (through different owners). Alden passed away at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson, on January 20, 2023, at the age of 82 years, 5 months, and 8 days.
Alden loved to travel and visited the forty-eight contiguous United States. He was an avid fan of sports, watching auto racing, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Minnesota Twins. Alden enjoyed doing Sudoku puzzles, decorating for the holidays, collecting coins and bowling.
Alden is survived by his son, Troy Knutson of Blaine, MN; son-in-law Martin Engler of Lakefield, MN: brothers, Robert Knutson of Mondovi, Wi, Harold (Marilyn Westerberg) Knutson of Petersburg, MN, and Philip (Helen “Cora” Peterson) Knutson of Andover, MN; Sisters-in-law, Beverly (Jim) Holmgren of Estherville, IA, Norma Olson of Fairmont, MN; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
Alden is preceded in death by his wife, Linda; daughter, Tamara; parents, Alvin and Sylvia; and brother, Donald Knutson, Sisters-in-law, Wanda (Wayne) Bannister, Joan (Leroy) Pegors, and Evelyn “Jean” Banashak.
