Alice Michelson

Alice Michelson, age 75, of Jackson, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, and will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Ted Carnahan officiating.

Burial will follow at Hauge’s Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged.

Alice Michelson, 75, passed away with her loving husband of 54 years by her side on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society of Jackson, MN.

Alice Evelyn Nolte was born one of twelve children to Edwin and Emma “Loeslin” Nolte in New Ulm, MN on February 16, 1948.  She graduated from Dr. Martin Luther High School in New Ulm before attending Southwest Minnesota Vocational School, in Jackson, where she graduated with a clerical, general office diploma in 1968.  She met the love of her life and was united in marriage to Eugene Michelson on January 4, 1969, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.  They resided in Jackson where they went on to raise 3 children, Michelle, Stacey, and Jeremy.  Throughout her years, Alice helped on the Michelson family farm, worked at Berkley, was a waitress at Best Western coffee shop, and a clerk at Throndset Pharmacy.

Alice lived for her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved baking, knitting, quilting, reading, and sewing outfits for her children and grandchildren.  Alice also loved traveling and sharing her winter home and surroundings with family and friends in Mesa, Arizona.  She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Jackson where she participated in the church choir, many bible study groups, and devotional studies.  Alice enjoyed listening to religious music, Elvis, and singing her favorite karaoke song “Gloria”.  She had such a caring heart and was always willing to help others.

Alice is survived by her husband, Eugene Michelson, daughter Stacey (Neil) Campbell, son Jeremy (Katie Waite) Michelson, 5 grandchildren including Dallas (Heather) Halverson, Mickala Ingbritson, Gabrielle Campbell, Zachary Campbell, and Trace Michelson, mother-in-law Clarine Michelson, and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Richard (Bernadine) Nolte, Howard (Marie) Nolte, Kenneth (Carol) Nolte, Maria Field, Carol Dable, Donald (Carmen) Nolte, Joyce Iverson, Sharon (Jim) Bronson, sister-in-law Kathryn Nolte, brother-in-law Larry (Pam) Michelson, son-in-law Michael Ingbritson, and many nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her daughter Michelle Ingbritson, grandson Dustin Halverson, parents Emma and Edwin Nolte, father-in-law Tillmen Michelson, brothers: baby boy Nolte and Lawrence Nolte, sister Gladys Olson, brother-in-laws Robert Iverson, Wayne Field, Paul Dable, and Tom Olson, and sister-in-law Barbara Nolte.
