Beverly Ann Grantz, daugher of Burnis and Bernice (Pennell) Tweedt, was born on Tuesday, September 18, 1928, in Armstrong. Iowa. Beverly was baptized on Octobor 21, 1928, and confirmed on May 24, 1942, in Armstrong. Beverly attended country school in Dolliver and graduated from Armstrong Public School. The Tweedt family lived in Dolliver, and in Armstrong, before moving to Jackson in 1946. Beverly worked as a clerk and waitress until her marriage. On May 2, 1948, she was united in marriage to Arthur Duane Grantz in Fairmont, Minnesota. Beverly was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, where she attended workshops, and sewed many quilt tops for the quilting group. She also volunteered at the Good Samaritan Home in Jackson for 8 years in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Upon Arthur’s passing in 2015, Beverly remained living in their home in Jackson, until very recently when she entered into the Good Samaritan Home. On Saturday, January 14, 2023, Beverly joined her Lord and Savior, at the age of 94 years, 3 months, and 26 days.
Beverly was a lady of many talents. She loved her flower gardens, planning, journaling, ordering seeds and mapping out where each type of flower was going to be planted in the spring. She was a wonderful cook and baker, always making things from scratch. Beverly liked doing crafts of all sorts, especially painting flowers and rosemaling. She learned how to use the jigsaw by her brother, and she drew, cutout and painted a Christmas Village for herself. Beverly taught herself how to play the guitar. She wrote and sang a song for her father. In her quiet time, she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles. Beverly was the family historian and was quite the storyteller. She was fond of telling stories of when she was growing up. Beverly’s stories, and smile will be greatly missed, by family and all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Beverly is survived by her sisters Mary (John) Anderson of Burnsville, MN, and Roma (Lowell) Vasseur of Coon Rapids, MN; brother Butch (Candy) Tweedt of Burlington, WI; along with many nieces and nephews.
Beverly is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Arthur Grantz, her parents Burnis and Bernice, four brothers, one sister, and an infant son.
Blessed be the memory of Beverly Ann Grantz.
