Corlene Hansen, age 88, of Jackson, Minnesota, entered into rest on Monday, January 10, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson. Visitation will take place from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor John Schuetz officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery in Jackson.
Corlene Adeline Wilma (Schroeder) Hansen, daughter of Henry William and Andrea Sophia (Skogen) Schroeder, was born on Sunday, March 12, 1933, in Brewster, Minnesota. She was baptized April 1933 at the Amo Lutheran Church in Storden, Minnesota. Corlene was confirmed on May 25, 1947, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster. Corlene met the love of her life Vernon Hansen at a dance in Sioux Valley. They were united in marriage on June 17, 1956, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster. They were blessed with one daughter Kristi. In 1956, Vernon and Corlene moved to Jackson. They bought a farm in Petersburg in 1972, and lived there until April of 2016, when they moved into town. Corlene worked as a customer service representative at Jackson Drug, the 1st National Bank, and Hallmark. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she taught preschool Sunday school. On Monday, January 10, 2022, Corlene joined her Lord and Savior, at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson, at the age of 88 years, 9 months, and 28 days.
Corlene was an outgoing, and caring lady. Her and Vernon enjoyed going to dances in Sioux Valley and Brewster. Corlene was a phenomenal cook, especially Norwegian dishes. She spent many hours sewing, and Hardanger embroidery. Corlene had a Nacht for interior design in her home. There wasn’t a room that didn’t have wallpaper or a fresh coat of paint. Corlene loved spending time with her family. There is a lifetime of memories for her family to cherish.
Corlene is survived by her husband of 65 years Vernon; daughter Kristi (Dewey) Ledin; grandchildren Jordan (Ted) Haberman and Spencer Ledin; granddaughter Madeline Haberman, along with numerous friends.
Corlene is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Andrea, brothers Willard Schroeder, Wayne Schroeder and Alvin Schroeder.
