David Darrel Stumpf

David Stumpf, age 75, of Lakefield, Minnesota entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Sanford Worthington Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lakefield, with Father Jonathan Fasnacht officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass. Burial will take place following the service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, with full Military Honors by Lakefield American Legion.

David Darrel Stumpf, son of Heinrich and Patricia (Wolff) Stumpf was born on May 2, 1946, in Lakefield, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. David attended and graduated from Lakefield High School in 1965. David enlisted into the United States Army in 1965. He proudly served his country and was honorably discharged in 1972, receiving the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service medal, and the Vietnam Campaign medal. David was united in marriage to JoAnn Majerus on June 24, 1967, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lakefield.  They were blessed with 3 children Maria, Chantele, and Peter. David was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  He worked for Rasmussen farms and was a truck driver with Runge Trucking. David entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center at the age of 75 years, 4 months, and 13 days.

David spent a lot of time traveling and loved seeing the world. In his down time, he enjoyed watching TV and reading books. David liked to play cards, especially solitaire on his electronic devices. He was an avid scroller of Facebook, keeping up on all the news. David also liked to shop. David had a heart of gold and made sure that people knew he cared about them. David has left a lifetime of stories, memories, and adventures for his family to cherish.

David is survived by his wife of 54 years JoAnn; daughters Maria Ahmed of Lakefield, Minnesota, and Chantele (Robert) Vizzini of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; son Peter (Kimberly) Stumpf of Bettendorf, Iowa; grandchildren Jessica, Jake, and Jackson; brother Harold (Pat) Stumpf of Jackson; sister Debra (Paul) Buck of Mason City, along with numerous other relatives.

David is preceded in death by his parents Heinrich and Patricia, and son-in-law Shakil Ahmed.
