Debra Sundahl, age 69 of Jackson, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Sanford Worthington Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson, with Pastor John Schuetz officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
Debra Ann Sundahl, was born on Tuesday, December 8, 1953, in Tracy, Minnesota, the daughter of Darold and Lorraine (Weilage) Benson. She attended Revere School through the sixth grade, then moved to Walnut Grove Schools where she attended and graduated in 1971. Debra resided in Jackson throughout her adult life. On October 4, 1975, she was united in marriage to Brian Sundahl at the Lutheran Church in Revere, Minnesota. Debra and Brian were blessed with 3 children, Matthew, Kari, and Bridget. Debra worked at the Candy Factory in Jackson, Edgewater Cafe, Jeff’s Foods, and was the manager at the Super America convenient store in Jackson for numerous years, until her retirement. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson. As Debra’s health issues progressed, in the fall of 2022, she became a resident in the nursing home in Worthington. On Friday, March 3, 2023, Debra passed away at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center at the age of 69 years, 2 months and 24 days.
Debra was a lady full of life. She enjoyed visiting, and joking around with her customers at the store. On the weekends, Debra liked attending the Jackson Race Track to watch the sprint car races, and in her younger years bowling on local leagues. She enjoyed gardening, and taking care of all her house plants. She had quite the collection of snowmen, and Christmas village houses. Debra loved getting her nails done by her granddaughter. Above all things, Debra loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and all that had the pleasure of getting to know her.
Debra is survived by her husband of 47 years Brian; son Matthew (Tara) Sundahl of Minot, North Dakota; daughters Kari (Kevin) Ahrens of Jackson, Minnesota and Bridget (Eric) Hanson, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; grandchildren Brekkyn Sundahl, Carter Ahrens, Audrey Sundahl, Brianna Hanson, Mylee Hanson, Owen Sundahl; brother David Benson of Ceylon, Minnesota; along with many other relatives, and good friends.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents Darold and Lorraine.
