Dennis LeRoy Frodermann, son of Walter and Myrtle (Radke) Frodermann, was born on Saturday, February 10, 1951 in Lakefield, Minnesota. He attended Round Lake public school and graduated from Round Lake High School in 1969. Upon graduating from high school, Dennis attended Mankato State University, obtaining his degree in Math education in January of 1974. Dennis was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Diane Lynn Garms, on September 19, 1972 at the Presbyterian Church in Round Lake. They were blessed with 3 children Michele, Evan and Derek. After graduating from college, Dennis and Diane moved to Jackson, where they made their forever home together. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, where he was an Elder. Dennis worked for a brief time at Ag Chem, before starting at Bob’s Fleet. In 1985, he became a fulltime manager at the store, which Dennis eventually bought into the business. Dennis took great pride in the business and continued to work until his death. On December 26, 2019, Dennis was diagnosed with cancer. Due to the complications caused by Covid-19 and continued aggressive cancer spread, Dennis was admitted into the Ava’s Hospice Cottage in December, where he passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the age of 69 years, 10 months and 26 days.
Dennis was a big supporter, proud business owner and highly active member of the Jackson community. He was a member of the Jackson County Fair Board, Jackson Development Corp, Jackson Racing Board, and the local Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. Dennis spent many years working to help others in any way that he could. A motto that we can take from Dennis is “it is not about winning or losing, it is about being a part of a team.” Dennis was a protector of his family, always making sure that they were taken care of, teaching them the value of hard work, and including them in all activities. He was immensely proud of his children and all their life accomplishments. Dennis loved to spend time with his grandchildren and occasionally spoil them with sweets. Dennis has left behind a lifetime of memories for his wife, children, grandchildren and the community to cherish.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 48 years Diane Frodermann; children Michele (Zac) Miller of Little Falls, Minnesota, Evan Frodermann of Springfield, Missouri, and Derek (Amanda) Frodermann of Kasson, Minnesota; grandchildren Olivia and Eli Miller, and Genevieve and Ian Frodermann; mother Myrtle Frodermann; brothers Larry (Bev) Frodermann, Les (Deb) Frodermann, and Dave (Janna) Frodermann; sisters Nancy (Arn) Ihrke, Marlene (Dennis) Bucholz, and Sharon (Christopher) Kondaki; foster brother Roger (Charolette) Frodermann, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.
