Elaine Kolander, age 91 of Lakefield, Minnesota, passed away with family by her side on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, with Pastor Dale Hedstrom officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Delafield Township.
Visitation will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Lakefield, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Elaine Darline Kolander, daughter of Elmer and Edith Hecht, was born on Monday, July 6, 1931, in Lakefield, Minnesota. She was baptized on August 2, 1931 at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Pastor Adolph Paul, and confirmed on May 26, 1946, by Pastor A.E. Wenger at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Elaine attended and graduated from Lakefield Schools in 1949. Elaine was united in marriage to Walter Kolander in June of 1949, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. After marriage, Elaine became a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Elaine and Walter moved to a farm in Heron Lake Township, where they lived all of their married life. They were blessed with 3 children Myron, Marlys, and Carolyn. In May of 2022, Elaine became a resident of Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield, where she passed away with her family by her side, on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at the age of 91 years, and 13 days.
Elaine was dearly loved by her family and friends. She will forever be a sweet memory that brings a smile to those that loved her.
Elaine is survived by her three children: Myron (Janice) Kolander of Bennington, Nebraska, Marlys (Mark) Runge of Lakefield, Minnesota, and Carolyn (Todd) Marten of Mankato, Minnesota; brothers Donald (Phyllis) Hecht of Hutchinson, Minnesota, and Charles (Leatrice) Hecht of Windom, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great friends.
Elaine is preceded in death by her beloved husband Walter, her parents Elmer and Edith Hecht, and an infant sister Charlene.
