Eldon Williams, age 89, of Jackson, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield. A visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson.
Eldon LaVerne Williams, son of John LaVerne and Meta (Schneekloth) Williams, was born on Sunday, March 25, 1934, in Jackson, Minnesota. He attended country school and graduated from Jackson High School in 1953. Eldon became a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church and was united in marriage to MaryAnn Pribyl on February 16, 1955. They were blessed with seven children; Patricia, Robert, Tim, Lee, Mark, Julie, and Daniel, raising their family in Jackson. Eldon’s work career began at Jackson Millworks before starting his own cabinet and carpentry shop and continued working until 86 years of age. Eldon became a resident of the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield, where he passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 18 days.
Eldon was a great innovator, problem solver, and well known for hosting weddings, anniversaries, and school reunions at “The Barn.” Eldon loved spending time with his wife and family and will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Left to cherish the memories of Eldon are his wife of 68 years Mary Ann; children Patricia (Bob) Hummel of Jackson, MN, Robert (Pamela) Williams of Beardsley, MN, Tim (Pam) Williams of Frederick, CO, Lee (Vickey Alexander) Williams of Rockford, IL, Mark (Lori) Williams of Jackson, MN, Julie (Dallas Luhmann) Williams of Jackson, MN, Daniel Williams of St. Peter, MN, and Eileen (Dave) Cushman of Jackson, MN; 35 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Susan Pribyl, and Mary Alice Pribyl; brothers-in-law David (Nancy) Pribyl and Ben Pribyl; along with many extended relatives and great friends.
Eldon is preceded in death by his parents John and Meta; mother and father in-law Thomas and Lillian Pribyl; brothers Derald (Donna) Williams, Delbert (Lavonne) Williams; brothers-in-law Frank, Larry, and Tom Pribyl Jr.; grandson Jared Williams and granddaughter Linda Claasen.
