Jeffry Post

Jeffry Lew Post, 77 of Lakefield, Minnesota, entered in rest on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Windom, Minnesota. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom, with Pastor Paul Sajban officiating. Visitation will take place at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the service begins. Burial will take place at a later date.

The service will be live streamed on the Osterberg Funeral Home Facebook page.

Masks are required to be worn inside the church.

Jeffry Lew Post, son of Arnold and Lois (Christoffer) Post was born on Monday, April 26, 1943 in Worthington, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at the Rost Lutheran Church.  Jeff grew up on a farm in rural Okabena. He attended Rost Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Okabena High School in 1961. Jeff went to college for three years, then attended Woolworth Management Training. Beginning in Estherville, Iowa, his career with Woolworth spanned from 1966-1982. In 1970, Jeff was assigned as store manager in Cortez, CO.  Jeff was united in marriage to LoAnn Ingbritson on August 19, 1967 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bergen. They were blessed with 2 children, Sarah and Jason. This marriage was dissolved in 2002. In 1982, Jeff relocated to the area to help his ailing father-in-law farm near Bergen. He also worked as a nursing assistant and home health aide until his retirement in 2012. Jeff was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom, where he was an active choir member.  Upon some health issues that arose, Jeff became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Windom, where he entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 23 days.

Jeff was a member of the YMCA in Worthington where he had a great group of friends that he played pickleball with. One of his greatest pleasures was travelling, both with family and tour groups. Jeff loved being outdoors his entire life, whether camping, hiking or gardening. He assisted his brother Marlyn on several Fishing Has No Boundaries trips.  Jeff always made sure to stay in touch with his family and friends; he loved visiting his children, grandchildren and family. Jeff has left a lifetime of memories for his family and friends to cherish.

Jeff is survived by his children Jason Post of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Sarah (Stephen) Schmidt of Litchfield, Illinois; grandchildren Andrew (Rachel) Schmidt, Isaac (Bailey) Schmidt, Aaron Schmidt and Jonathan Schmidt; great-grandsons Connor and Oliver Schmidt; brothers David (Arlys) Post, and Greg (Jackie) Post; and a sister-in-law Joanne Post.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Lois, brother Marlyn, infant brother, and stepfather Harold “Hap” Suelflow.
