Obituary

Jessie Anna Minscer, 70, of Jackson, Minnesota entered into rest on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society in Windom. Visitation will take place on Monday, June 7th, 2021 from 5-7 p.m., and one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, at the First Baptist Church in Jackson. Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, with Pastor Nathan Janzen officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date.

Jessie Anna (Johnson) Minscer, daughter of Harold and Geraldine (Hinton) Johnson, was born on Monday, August 28, 1950, on the family farm in Martin County, Minnesota. She attended Truman schools, and graduated from Jackson High School. Upon graduation Jessie went to Nettleton College. She worked at Culligan, taught Headstart, before going to Core Source to work in the Insurance Claims Department until her retirement. Jessie was married to LeRoy Chelsey on February 22, 1969, and was blessed with her adopted children Jody Heiden, and Steven Chelsey. This union was later dissolved. Jessie was united in marriage to Ronald Minscer on November 11, 1994, in Jackson. She was fortunate to gain 2 stepchildren, Lori Stapella and Alysia Lauseng. Jessie and Ron made their home together in Jackson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Jessie taught vacation Bible School, was a Girl Scout troop leader, a member of the Jackson American Legion and VFW, and did foster care. Jessie passed away peacefully, with her husband Ron by her side on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Home in Windom, at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 1 day.

Jessie was quite active in the community and loved to volunteer her time. She enjoyed music and dancing. Jessie looked forward to camping with Ron, and her trips to Missouri to see family and all the sites that came along the way. She was always up for a game of cards, of any sort. Jessie liked going out fishing. She loved all her animals. Jessie has left behind a lifetime of memories for her family to cherish.

Jessie is survived by her husband of 26 years Ronald; children Jody Heiden, Steven Chelsey, Lori (Bryon) Stapella, and Alysia Lauseng; grandchildren Robert, Dustin, Natasha, Danielle, Kaleb, Jareth, Shana; 8 great-grandchildren, special friends/caretakers Meridee and Missy, along with numerous foster children.

Jessie is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Geraldine.
