Joe Polz, age 65, of Jackson, Minnesota passed away at his residence on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson, with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor John Schuetz officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Joseph Victor Polz, son of Victor and Verna (Oelke) Polz, was born on Saturday, August 4, 1956, in Jackson, Minnesota. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1975. He was a member of the Army National Guard for four years. Throughout Joe’s life he worked a variety of odd jobs, from bartending to gas station attendant. Joe was a lifetime member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson. On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, Joe was called home to his Lord and Savior at the age of 65 years, 4 months, and 11 days.
Joe was known around Jackson for always having a story to tell and could be found sitting outside Casey’s doing just that. He enjoyed playing bingo at the American Legion and visiting with his friends. He had a knack for fishing and was always out on the local lakes and rivers.
Joe is survived by his son Shane (Lyndsey) Polz; and his siblings: David Polz, Paul Polz, Mary (Walter) Baumann, John (Jen) Polz, Jim (Jane) Polz, Pat Cole, Norma (Craig) Kolander, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Verna, brother in-law Junior Cole, sister in-law Teresa Polz, and niece Nicole Scheff.
