Joel Bretzman

Joel Bretzman, age 50 of Jackson, Minnesota passed away at his residence in Jackson, on Saturday, March 19, 2022. A private family funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson with Pastor Andrew Schensted officiating. The funeral service will be live streamed on the Osterberg Funeral Home Facebook page.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson.

Joel Vernon Bretzman, son of Vernon and Carol (Trosin) Bretzman was born on Tuesday, July 6, 1971, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was baptized at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lakefield and was confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield. Joel attended and graduated from Heron Lake Okabena Lakefield schools. In his early 20’s Joel moved to Jackson. He worked at Last Deck for many years and was currently working as a carpenter. On Saturday, March 19, 2022, Joel passed away at his residence in Jackson, at the age of 50 years, 8 months, and 13 days.

Joel was an outgoing gentleman. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. Joel was quite the pool player. His enjoyment of fishing began at an early age when the family took fishing trips to Leach Lake. Joel was a man of many words and always had a smile on his face. He was able to start up a conversation with anyone he would see. Joel has left behind a lifetime of memories for his family and friends to cherish.

Joel is survived by his mother Carol Bretzman; his brother Aaron (Holly Jensen) Bretzman; nieces and nephews Brody, Kayden, Alex, Avery, and Logan; along with numerous other relatives.

Joel is preceded in death by his father Vernon, and his grandparents.
