Joyce Konradi

Joyce Evelyn Konradi, 84, of Lakefield, Minnesota entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at the Colonial Manor Nursing home in Lakefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster, Minnesota with Father Pratap Reddy Salibindla officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Brewster.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church.

Masks are required to be worn by all.

Joyce Evelyn (Cheney) Konradi, daughter of Glen and Evelyn (Steffen) Cheney, was born on November 11, 1935 in Mapleton, Minnesota. Joyce graduated from St. Peter High school in 1954. Joyce was united in marriage to Vernon on August 8, 1956 at the Saint Peter Catholic Church. She later baptized and confirmed into the Catholic Faith. Vernon and Joyce were blessed with 4 children, David, Debra, Linda, and Mark. They lived in numerous places, before making their forever home together in 1963 in Ewington Township, Jackson County, Minnesota. Joyce was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster, Minnesota where she was a member of the quilting group, and CCW. Joyce worked as a cook for Sioux Valley, Round Lake and Rost schools, and retiring from Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She also helped her husband Vernon on the farm. After Vernon died in 2013, Joyce remained living on the homestead until the fall of 2017, when she became a resident of Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield, Minnesota. Joyce entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at the age of 84 years, 7 months, and 21 days.

Joyce was a very caring woman. She always made sure that her family and others were taken care of. Joyce had a huge garden that kept her quite busy maintaining during the summer months, and the harvesting and canning in the fall. She loved to cook for her family. Joyce also enjoyed sewing, playing cards, especially 500, reading mystery novels, and crossword puzzles. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family. She has left behind a lifetime of memories for her family to cherish.

Joyce is survived by her children David (Debra) Konradi of Round Lake, Minnesota: Debra Ozuturk of Lakefield, Minnesota, and Linda (Allan) Hill of Cibolo, Texas; grandchildren Shelly (Mark) Schliewe, Amy (Scott) Blom, and Cengiz (Bethany) Ozuturk; sister-in-law Sandra Cheney, along with nieces and nephews.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parent's Glen and Evelyn; her husband of 56 years Vernon; infant son Mark Konradi; Vivian Mork, Glenda Sonnabend, Mary Burger, Gloria Brock and Charles Cheney.
