Kathleen Leopold

Kathleen Mary (Vacura) Leopold, 68, of Lakefield, Minnesota entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. A private family Mass of Christian Burial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Jonathan Fasnacht officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Masks are highly encouraged to be worn, although not required.

Kathleen "Kathy" Mary Leopold, daughter of Clifford and Hazel (Hesebeck) Vacura, was born on October 24, 1951, in Lakefield, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lakefield, where she was a current member. As a child, Kathy attended Lakefield public school, until her family moved to Windom. She graduated from Windom high school in 1970. Kathy was united in marriage to Keith Leopold on June 3, 1972 at Xavier Catholic Church in Windom. They were blessed with 3 sons, Kristopher, Korey, and Kollin. Kathy worked various part-time jobs throughout her lifetime, but her main focus was raising her children. Kathleen entered into eternal rest on July 2, 2020, at the age of 68 years, 8 months, and 8 days.

Kathy was a very caring, compassionate, fun, outgoing and humble woman. She always made sure that her family was taken care of. Kathy was also somewhat direct. She was not afraid to speak what was on her mind. Kathy loved to go grocery shopping. She was quite the cook and baker, and was famous for her potato salad, cookies, and her buttermilk brownies. Kathy enjoyed playing cards, especially 31 with her family. Kathy looked forward to the summer golf outings at Valleybrook, the after-golf steak cookout, and the evening of a poker game with Keith and 3 other couples. Keith and Kathy vacationed to Mexico and the Bahamas. Kathy loved having everyone together for the holidays. She was family oriented and thrived on each and every moment that she was able to spend with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Kathy has left a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories for her family to cherish.

Kathleen is survived by her husband of 48 years Keith; her sons Kristopher (Molly) Leopold, Korey Leopold, and Kollin Leopold; 4 grandchildren Keaton, Mason, Payton and Koyer; brother Gary (Jan) Vacura; sister Patricia Aden; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her parent's Clifford and Hazel.
