Kirstin Ruth Hansen, 49, of South Carolina, formerly of Jackson, Minnesota entered into eternal rest on November 15, 2019 in Hilten Head Island, South Carolina. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jackson with Pastor Cynthia Hopp officiating. A time of sharing, and fellowship in honor of Kirstin will be held at Fort Belmont immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to PAWS, Wounded Warriors, JCC Dollars for Scholars, or Our Savior’s Lutheran Church are preferred.
Due to the ongoing concerns with COVID-19, masks are required to be worn inside the church.
Kirstin Ruth Hansen, daughter of David and Ruth (Olson) Hansen was born on January 20, 1970 at the Jackson hospital. Kirstin was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jackson. She attended and graduated from Jackson high school in 1988. During her school years she was a wrestling cheerleader, played in the band, active in the Belmont 4-H club, a member of the student council and of the National Honor's Society. Kirstin was an AFS student in Austria. Upon graduating from high school, Kirstin attended St. Cloud State in Minnesota for 3 ½ years, where she spent a year of that studying abroad in Japan. Her major of studies was International business. Kirstin lived in the Dallas, Fort Worth, Texas area for a number of years. She worked a variety of jobs from marketing, bartending, waitressing, and event planner at the American Paint Horse Association and horse herdsman at a small ranch. In 2017, Kirstin moved to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina to manage Bennali's Coastal Wear Boutique owned by her sister Alisha and husband Eben. She was in the process of purchasing the business. Kirstin found her soul mate and love of her life Steve Gonderman in South Carolina. Together they lived their lives to the fullest.
Kristin was an outgoing, adventurous woman who loved to travel. She loved God, was an avid Viking's fan and also enjoyed playing harmless pranks on others. Kirstin had a passion for horses and dogs, especially her golden retrievers Trevor and Rowdy and her horse Druid. She sheltered over 400 dogs while living in Texas. Kirstin loved being dressed to the max in her heels and hats, she was never afraid of getting dirty. Kirstin was a genuine person, making friends with most everyone she met. She always made time for others, from a conversation with children, to helping indiviidual's in need, or a handshake and a thank you to all veterans she welcomed into the store. Kirstin enjoyed taking walks and spending time by the water. The ocean was her peaceful, serene place. Family was very important to Kirstin. She loved each and every moment that she spent with her father and sister out deer hunting, fishing with grandpa, and all the Hansen family, game nights with the family, and all the time she could spend with her cousins, relatives and friends. Kirstin was loved by family, friends, and most anyone she met. She has left behind a legacy of memories for all to cherish.
Kirstin unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on November 15, 2019, in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina at the age of 49 years.
Kirstin is survived by her parent's David and Ruth; sisters Alisha (Eben) Hartzenberg of Sedona, Arizona and Jessica (Josh) Ruud of Buffalo, Minnesota; significant other Steve Gonderman of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; her golden retrievers Trevor, and Rowdy; along with numerous cousins and extended family members.
Kirstin is preceded in death by her grandparent's: Art and Ruth M. Hansen and Gladys and Nils Olson.
