Lila Jane Pierce

Lila Pierce, age 74 of Jackson, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Salem Lutheran Church in Jackson. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Riley Place officiating.

Lila Pierce’s Love Story

Even from the beginning, there was LOVE. Lila Jane (Williams) Pierce was born September 27, 1949, in Jackson, MN at the Halloran Hospital. She was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church and was confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Lila was the first of 4 children and grew up on the family farm. She attended Jackson High School and shortly met the love of her life, Steven Jerome Pierce. They were united in marriage on June 28, 1967, at Our Redeemer and that love blessed them with their 4 children, Travis, Shawn, Corey, and Stacey.

While she worked various industry jobs at Cuddy Farms, the local hospital and Polaris, Lila enjoyed traveling with her husband and children, creating many (MANY) memories throughout the years. Watching their children have their own kids brought them a joy that can’t be measured, not to mention a full household. Her greatest joy was the little ones running around. Lila enjoyed cooking, playing softball, card games, a clean house with an unmeasured amount of coffee and took on each day like it was her last. She believed that love was the answer to all life’s adventures, and she was right. She continued her travels to see her expanding family as they spread out to start their own families and carried traditions even after the loss of her love to cancer in 2017.

Lila followed her love home on November 28th, 2023, at her home in Jackson, MN. She is survived by her two sons, Travis Reece Pierce (Stephanie) in Luverne, MN, Corey Oscar Pierce (Kathy) and her daughters, Shawn Renae Carignan (Steve) in Spirit Lake, IA, and Stacey Jane Pegum (Don) in Marathon, FL. With 9 grandchildren, Paige Paquette (Phil), Abby Egeberg (Brody), Samantha Pierce, Hunter & Braden Pierce, Alex Carignan, Alice Butters (Jo), Grayson & Susy Pegum, life became even more great with Teddy, Jasper, Beau, and Sonny. She was preceded in death by her love, Steven Pierce, her parents Carl & Irene Williams, In-Laws Oscar & Margaret Pierce, and various other relatives.

Lila was a woman of faith. She opened her home to many and believed in family, whether it was blood or not. With a subtle sound of ‘It’s Only Make Believe’ and the sun shines as she continues her journey into her love’s arms, where their next chapter begins.
