Mildred "Millie" Bieber Obituary

Mildred J. “Millie” Bieber, age 99 of Lakefield, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. Visitation will take place from 9:30-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakefield. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Phil Beukema officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.

Mildred Janet Bieber, daughter of George and Anna (Olson) Lesch, was born on Sunday, March 18, 1923, in Trimont, Minnesota. She was baptized into the Lutheran Faith on August 19, 1923, and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield on July 18, 1937. When Mildred was 12 years old, the family moved to Lakefield. She received her education from Lakefield Schools. Mildred married Edward Bieber on September 15, 1949. They were blessed with 2 daughters Beverly and Shirley. Together Mildred and Edward farmed in Hunter Township, until retiring in 1983, when they made their home in Lakefield. Mildred remained living in their home upon Edward’s passing in 2011, until 2021, when she moved into Valley View Assisted Living. Mildred passed away at Colonial Manor Nursing Home on February 23, 2023 at the age of 99 years, 11 months and 5 days.

Mildred was a homemaker who loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She loved quilting, embroidery, fishing and playing cards. Mildred was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Mildred is survived by her daughters Beverly (David) Hussong of Okabena, and Shirley (Rodney) Larsen of Lakefield; granddaughter Jennifer (Cole) Kirstein; grandsons Jason (Laura) Larsen and Jonathan Hussong; great grandchildren Kailey, Charlie, Isabella, and Timothy, along with many special nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Edward, parents George and Anna; brothers Chester, LeRoy, Loren, George, and Kenneth; sisters Berniece Madsen and Esther Stoyke.
