Nora Anderson

Nora Anderson, age 94, of Lakefield, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Sanford Jackson Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield, and will continue from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023, with Pastor Andrew Schensted officiation. Burial will follow at the Lakefield City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran in Nora’s honor are encouraged.

Nora Mae Anderson was born December 05,1928, to Jacob and Jonnethe (Lindberg) Sydnes. Nora was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church. As a child Nora attended Jackson County Country School and later graduated from Lakefield High School in 1946. Nora was united in marriage to Stanley Anderson at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield, MN on January 10, 1954. The couple lived on their farm near Jackson in Hunter Township. Stanley passed away on January 6, 1986, due to complications from MS. Later Nora moved into Lakefield after Stanley's passing. In 2022, Nora moved into Valley View Assisted Living in Lakefield. Nora passed away and went home to the Lord on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center in Jackson, MN at the age of 94 years, 7 months, and 18 days.

Nora was an active member at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and attended Women's Circle. She was a dedicated Bingo volunteer at the Good Samaritan Home in Jackson for many years. Nora sold Avon for 44 years and was widely known as the "Avon Lady." During her Avon career, she was consistently in the President's Club and made many long-lasting friends. She loved to watch the Twins, rarely missing a game, read, crocheted afghans, put together puzzles, enjoyed gardening, and played games on her iPad. Most recently she enjoyed listening to audio books as her vision diminished.

.Nora is survived by her 4 children: Brad (Shirley) Anderson, Jackson, MN, Deb (Mike) Pucherelli, Pine, CO, Doug (Colleen) Anderson, Lakefield, MN, and Gene (Tina) Anderson, Lakewood, CO. Also survived by her 11 grandchildren: Nicole (Tom) Evans, Travis (Alyssa) Anderson, Derek (Christie) Anderson, Megan (Cody) Poelaert, Kate Anderson, Paige Anderson, Sherri Pucherelli (Alex Stephens), Danielle Pucherelli (Julian Carr), Dominick Pucherelli (fiancé Shawni Clapper); Jacob and Hannah Anderson. Survived by 10 great-grandchildren: Davis and Charlee Evans; Brylee, Kinslee, and Dextyn Anderson; Colt and Greta Anderson; Hunter Poelaert; Ona and Inga Stephens. Also survived by sisters-in-law: Avis Anderson and Margaret Walker and brothers-in-law: Richard (Linda) Anderson, John (Mary) Anderson as well as many nieces and nephews.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stanley, her siblings: Carl Sydnes, Loyal Sydnes, Lillian Showman, Pearl Johnson, and Agnes Hodnefield.
