Richard Jake Nyborg, son of Calvin and Julie (Breining) Nyborg, was born on Tuesday, April 10, 1945, in Jackson, Minnesota. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1963. Richard was a wrestler and football player throughout school. Dick farmed with his dad. He went into the Army National Guard, taking his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, in Missouri. Dick and Kathy were united in marriage on October 2, 1965, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Jackson. They had a double wedding with great friends Kent and Diane Johnson. Dick and Kathy were blessed with 3 children Chad, Kristin, and Luke. Dick farmed until the spring of 1980, when he and Kathy bought a ranch and relocated to Berryville, Arkansas. They later moved to Pine River, Minnesota where Dick hauled pinewood. Dick and Kathy moved back to Jackson, where he worked briefly at AGCO, then took a job as a salesman for John Deere in Estherville, Iowa.  Dick later on bought a semi-truck and did hauling for construction. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Dick passed away, with his family by his side, on Friday, February 4, 2022, at Sunset Cottage in Worthington, at the age of 76 years, 9 months, and 24 days.

Dick was a gentleman that wore many hats. Whatever the job he had, or the task that was handed to him, he took seriously and worked hard at it. Dick was a great father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the many hours at the cabin up north, teaching and helping the grandchildren catch  fish.  Dick has left a lifetime of memories for his family to cherish.

Dick is survived by Kathy Nyborg, children Kristin Nyborg, and Luke Nyborg; grandchildren Carsen, Kiana, Journee, and Jake; brother Larry (Virginia) Nyborg; along with number other family, and friends.

Dick is preceded in death by his son Chad at infancy, parents Calvin and Julie Nyborg; in-laws Henry and Gladys Norem; brothers Bob Nyborg and Charlie Nyborg; and great granddaughter Josephine Josie Gamble.

Blessed be the memory of Richard Jake Nyborg.
