Robert George Drahota, son of Adolph and Marie (Vrchota) Drahota was born on Wednesday, February 22, 1928, in Jackson County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Jackson. Robert attended school through the 8th grade at the Des Moines Township Country School. Upon school, Robert worked for his father at the family-owned bait store located on Clear Lake. He also helped out at the Dekalb plant. Robert joined the United States Army in 1951. He proudly served until being honorably discharged on May 14, 1952. When Robert returned from service he farmed until retiring at the age of 85. He also enjoyed helping local farmers shell corn. Robert was united in marriage to Ethel Froderman on May 10, 1960, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. He and Ethel made their home together on the family farm, where they raised their 3 boys, John, Thomas, and Joseph.

Robert enjoyed having coffee with the locals at Hardee’s, where they would discuss solving the world’s problems. He enjoyed fishing, shopping adventures to Menards, and driving around the farm in his cart. Robert enjoyed attending farm auctions and was always looking for a bargain. He spent many hours on the farm tinkering on his machinery and projects. Robert and Ethel loved going to Polka dances at Fox Lake and Sioux Valley. He had a love of animals and was known for having a random animal in the house which he would pet. Robert had a passion for videotaping, especially family trips, his grandchildren, and wildlife. He was quite the accordion player, making up his own music and having his grandchildren dance at his side. Robert has left a lifetime of memories for his family and friends to cherish.  Robert entered into eternal rest on March 6, 2022, at the age of 94 years and 12 days.

Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years Ethel; sons John (Sheri) Drahota, Thomas (Candace) Drahota, and Joseph (Dawn Barrett) Drahota; grandchildren Mackenzie Drahota, Mackenna Drahota, Mackaiya Drahota, Jesse (Michelle) Drahota, and Jay Drahota; great grandchildren Dylan, Breanna, Summer, Autumn, Tanner, Taleyaha, and Sakura, along with numerous relatives and friends.
