Robert Stanley Willett, age 80, of Jackson, Minnesota passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Ava’s Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, surrounded by his loving wife and family. A private family burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Jackson, Minnesota.
Bob was born on October 20, 1940, in Jackson, Minnesota, to George and Mary (Matuska) Willett. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1958 and began his career in agriculture with DeKalb Seed Corn. Bob and Ardis (Hedge) Willett were united in marriage and to this union were born one daughter, Debra Willett (Sioux Falls, South Dakota) and one son, Terry Willett (Jackson, Minnesota).
Bob rarely missed an opportunity to fish – any season of the year. In retirement Bob and Ardis enjoyed traveling to all 50 states and enjoyed many summers at their lake home at Spirit Lake, Iowa, and their winters in Texas. His family was his pride and joy, and they will miss him dearly. His goal of meeting his youngest great-grandson just weeks before he passed away was a very special moment for him.
Bob is survived by his wife, Ardis of Jackson, children Debra and Terry, brother Gordon Willett of Jackson, and sister Patricia (Dale) Gehrels of Milford, Iowa, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, George, and Mary Willett, one brother, Don Willett, and his father and mother in-law Berton, and Adeline Hedge.
Blessed be the memory of Robert Stanley Willett.
