Ron Bezdicek was born on February 18th, 1960, in Jackson, Minnesota. The son of Vincent J. and Ann (Censky) Bezdicek. He was baptized and confirmed at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Jackson, where he was a lifelong member. Ron grew up outside of Jackson in Des Moines Township and graduated from Jackson High School in 1978. He attended vocational school in Mankato for one year before returning home to take over the family farm. Ron met the love of his life, Mary Petersen, at the Rolls Royce Disco in Spirit Lake, Iowa in 1981. The two were united in marriage on September 8th, 1984, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. This union blessed them with two children, Tyler, and Megan. Together, Ron and Mary raised their children on the family farm where values were instilled, and many family memories were made.

Ron knew from a young age that he was meant to be a farmer. He spent his entire life on the farm learning, fixing, and working the land. Throughout the years he has farmed many acres, raised countless livestock, and made numerous friends. His love of farming was evident in all aspects of his life and this love was passed on to both of his children. With Ron’s strong work ethic, he took on a job with the City of Jackson at the Water Treatment Plant in 1994, while still continuing to farm. Ron continued to work in town full time for 28 years until he retired in the fall of 2021 so he could focus on his true passion, farming.

Genuine, knowledgeable, could fix anything, hardworking, and a jokester are just a few ways to describe Ron, but most importantly, he was an amazing father, a loving husband, and a loyal friend. Ron was an avid collector of farm equipment and loved his “inventory”. He had the most amazing ability to hop into any piece of machinery and run it like he had been doing it for years. Ron was the most dependable man you could count on for just about anything, except being on time.

Left to cherish his everlasting memory are his wife, Mary; his son, Tyler (Jenny); and daughter, Megan Bezdicek; his grandkids, Talan and Ellie; his sister Mary (Dave) Meinert; his brothers, John Bezdicek and Vince (Karen) Bezdicek; his nephews, Jeff Meinert, Andy (Jenny) Meinert, Matt (Maria) Bezdicek, Dan (Steph) Meinert, and Devin (Katie) Bezdicek; nieces, Ashley (Rilie) Morgan, Kinbrae (Curt) Foster, and Jadin Bezdicek; several great nieces and nephews and other family members; his beloved blue heeler companion, Butzik and granddog, Johnny.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Ann, and his sister, Diane Bezdicek-Fritz.
