Rose Marie Cihak, daughter of Anton J. and Ruth Ann (Baloun) Cihak, was born on Monday, April 28, 1941, in Lakefield, Minnesota. Rosie was one of four children. She was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rosie attended school at the Developmental Achievement Center at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lakefield, until it closed, then was home schooled. She had the job of collecting the chicken eggs on the family farm. Upon Ruth’s passing in 1989, Rosie went to live with her sister Catherine Phinney. In 1992, Rosie moved to Fulda into one of the New Dawn homes. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Fulda. On Thursday, April 28, 2022, Rosie was welcomed by her family at the Heavenly Gates, at the age of 81 years old.
Rosie was a fun, loving, kindhearted lady. She enjoyed being outside, going for walks, and swinging on the swing set. Rosie liked to attend the local sporting events at the school and in the community, and chat with others. She was quite the dancer, and a very particular card player. Rosie loved spending time with her family at picnics, holidays, and the frequent visits from them. Rosie’s smile and charm will be missed dearly by her family, and friends.
Rosie is survived by her nieces Becky Lade, Kay (Ron) Wedeking, Norine (Gary) Murphy, Tracey Phinney, and Toni Walters who was also Rosie’s guardian; nephews Scott Cihak and Mike Phinney, along with numerous other family members.
Rosie is preceded in death by her parents Anton and Ruth, grandparents, siblings Frances Hall, Catherine Phinney, and Tony Cihak, and a nephew Steve Lade.
Blessed be the memory of Rosie Marie Cihak.
