Susan Winters

Susan Winters, age 67, of Lakefield, Minnesota passed away at Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, on Monday, April 26, 2021. A private family funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Lakefield, with Reverend Phil Beukema officiating. Burial will be held immediately following the service at the Lakefield City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, April 30, 2020 at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Lakefield.

The funeral service will be live streamed on the Osterberg Funeral Home Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Susan Marie Winters, daughter of Leo and Barbara (Posorske) Koster was born on Thursday, October 8, 1953 in Worthington, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Worthington. The Koster family grew up in Ewington Township, in Round Lake, Minnesota.  Susan attended and graduated from Okabena Public School in 1971. She was united in marriage to Rick Seydel in 1973. They were blessed with 2 children Mike and Michelle.  Susan worked a variety of jobs from waitressing at her family’s restaurant in Fairmont, Fingerhut in Windom, bartending at PJ’s in Wilder, and working for over 40 years at Toro in Windom. While working at PJ’s, Susan met Jeff Winters and they later married on February 3, 2005 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Susan and Jeff made a home together in Lakefield, Minnesota. She retired from Toro in the fall of 2018, and then worked along side her husband. In 2019 Susan was diagnosed with cancer. Susan was reunited with her Lord and Savior on April 26, 2021 at Sunset Cottage in Worthington, Minnesota at the age of 67 years, 6 months, and 18 days.

Susan enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially working in her flower gardens, along with fishing and boating during the summer months. Susan loved spending time with her husband, kids, and grandchildren. She loved to travel and looked forward to the annual trip to St. Marten with Jeff.  She adored her grandchildren and looked forward to the time she was able to spend with them. Susan has left a lifetime of memories for her family and friends to cherish.

Susan is survived by her husband of 16 years Jeff; children Mike (Lindsey) Seydel of Montana: Michelle (Michael) Kling of North Carolina: Ryan (Courtney) Winters of Iowa and Trista (Dakota) Morns of Iowa; eight grandchildren: Talin and Layla Seydel: Nathan and Jason Kling: Kayden, Keaton, Tevin, and Aralyse Morris; sisters Sandra (Jim) Obermoller and Linda (Dudley) Schmidt; sister-in-law Roxie Koster, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents Leo and Barbara, brother Steven Koster, and nephew Travis Koster.
