Terry Lee Sirovy

Terry Sirovy, age 78, of Marshall, Minnesota, formerly of Jackson, passed away with his family by his side, on Monday, December 13, 2021, at the Boulder Estates Assisted Living Facility in Marshall, Minnesota.  Visitation will be held at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson, on Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 with Pastor Eunice officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Riverside Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.

Terry Lee Sirovy, son of Robert William and Lila (Isaacson) Sirovy, was born on Saturday, November 27, 1943, in Havre, Montana. Terry was baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. He attended and graduated from Jackson High School in 1962. After graduation, Terry worked for his Uncle Eddie for a few years until he was hired at the Jackson County Highway Department in 1967.  Terry remained employed for the County for the next 33 years until retiring in 2000. On March 1, 1964, Terry was united in marriage to Barbara Sampson at the First Presbyterian Church. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Belynda and Teresa. Terry was a lifelong resident of Jackson, until October 2020, when he and Barbara moved into the Boulder Estates Assisted Living in Marshall, Minnesota.   After a lengthy battle of both Parkinson’s and COPD, Terry took the Lords Hand and entered into the Heavenly Gates at the age of 78 years and 16 days.

Terry was an avid race car enthusiast. Fridays and Saturdays, he spent a great amount of time at the racetrack in Jackson. Terry had a 1967 Chevy Camaro, that was one of his most prize possessions. He was very meticulous about his belongings, always making sure that everything was organized, clean, waxed, and shiny. Terry enjoyed being out in his yard, whether it was mowing, raking, or moving snow.  He enjoyed spending time with his family. Terry and Barbara rarely left Jackson, but did enjoy their trips to Washington, Montana, Canada, Arizona, Jamaica, and Colorado.  He especially enjoyed camping with grandkids and an excursion on the Durango train. There is a lifetime of memories of Terry that will be cherished by his family and friends.

Terry is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 57 years; daughters: Belynda (Gary) Metz of Marshall, MN, and Teresa (Mike) Boyer of Jackson, MN; grandchildren: Mariah (Robert) Gould, Connor Metz, Jacob (Sarah) Boyer, Joseph Boyer and Bailey Boyer; brother Loel (Merla) Sirovy; sister Judy Dyhrkopp, along with many other relatives and friends. 

Terry is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lila, brother Robert Sirovy Jr, and son-in-law Paul Grelson.
