William "Bill" Holmes

William “Bill” Holmes entered into rest on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Home in Jackson, Minnesota. A private graveside service was held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Riverside Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

William “Bill” Raymond Holmes, son of Oakley and Alta (Grebe) Holmes, was born April 10, 1928 in Pierce County, Nebraska. He attended rural schools, and graduated in 1945 from Plainview, Nebraska High School. Bill served in the Korean Conflict from 1951 thru 1952. He and Helen were united in marriage on August 3, 1952. They resided in Columbus, Indiana, along with Foster and Pierce, Nebraska, before moving to Jackson, Minnesota in July of 1969. Bill served as electrical supervisor for the City of Jackson until retiring in January of 1990.

Bill is survived by his wife Helen; three children Steve (Barbara), Mary Jane, and John (Susan), 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren (#15 due in March 2021); and sister Peggy.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Oakley and Alta; siblings Claire, Joray and Betty.
