Zita was united in marriage to Fred Reetz Jr. on July 30, 1951 in Fairmont, Minnesota. They made their forever home together on the Reetz homestead in Petersburg Township. Fred and Zita were blessed with five children. Zita and Fred enjoyed going to dances together. In 2013, Zita lost her best friend and life companion Fred. She remained on the Reetz homestead until her passing on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 8 days.

Zita was not only a homemaker; she was a loving and caring mother. Her children thought of her not only as a mother but as a friend. Zita was a happy woman, that always had a smile on her face. Zita enjoyed being out in her flower and vegetable gardens and canning the vegetables she harvested. Zita enjoyed cooking and looked forward to Sunday dinners she prepared for her family consisting of roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, along with all the fixings.
